Our Approach To Your Privacy

Big River Analytics (the “Company”) understands that by protecting private and personal information, we protect our clients, employees and partners. As a company we expect each employee to adhere to our internal security standards and policies that have been created out of our commitment to the safety of those we work with. If possible, we avoid collecting any personally identifiable information (PII) at all and always think about how we can minimize the amount of data we are collecting, handling or storing. Data minimization is our main principle, whether you are a client or an employee, and that applies to the way we have set up our website as well. While you are on our website (the “Site”), we will only collect the minimum data necessary to provide you with a pleasant and comfortable experience.

We will not collect any additional personal or private data beyond the data listed below without notifying you first and unless you enter into a written, contractual relationship with Big River Analytics requesting a specific business service from us.  

When you visit and use our Site, we may automatically collect and store the following information through our website platform and cookies (if enabled in our browser), provided by 3rd parties (Google Analytics and SquareSpace):

  3. Time and duration of visit on website;

  4. Referrer origin (website or platform that referred you to the Site);

  6. RSS Subscriber statistics;

  7. Clicked links; and

  8. Content viewed.

You cannot submit any other private or personal information through our Site and if you choose to send an unencrypted email to any email address listed on the website, you should be aware that there is a risk of your (including and files and attachments) message being intercepted by unauthorised parties. 

How We Use Personal Data

Data collected on our Site will only be used for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy or indicated on the relevant pages of our Site. We will not use your data beyond what we disclose in this Privacy Policy. We do not rent, trade or sell personal or private data, under any circumstances.

The data we collect through the Site is used for the following purposes:

  3. Monitoring website usage and performance.

Big River Analytics is not a data processing company and we only collect, handle, transmit and store data for which there exists a specific and documented business purpose. 

Who We Share Personal Data With

Employees

We may disclose Site visitor data to any employee at the Company who reasonably needs access to this data to achieve the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Any personal or private data collected will only be disclosed to authorized employees and any breach of our privacy policy or access management standards can lead to disciplinary action, termination and pressing of criminal charges where there are grounds.

Overall, we attempt to minimize the amount of personal and private information that is collected, and have strict, internal access management policies that define which employees can access certain data, all in line with their roles and responsibilities, and in line with the principles of segregation of duty and least access privileges.  

Other Disclosures

To achieve the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, including but not limited to website analytics and delivering website content to your devices, we use Google Analytics and SquareSpace. 

Once you enter into a written, contractual relationship with Big River Analytics, in order to deliver on specific business commitments set out in the contract, we may use other productivity platforms and 3rd party services, all of which will be listed in the relevant agreements.

We will not sell or share your data with other third parties, except in the following cases:

  1. If the law requires it;

  2. If it is required for any legal proceeding;

  3. To prove or protect our legal rights; and

  4. To buyers or potential buyers of this company in the event that we seek to sell the company.

If you follow hyperlinks from our Site to another Site, please note that we are not responsible for and have no control over their privacy policies and practices.

How Long We Store Personal Data

Personal and private data will be stored until the specific business purpose the data was collected for has been achieved. Big River Analytics only collects, handles, transmits and stores data for which there exists a specific and documented business purpose. Once we have no business specific, regulatory, legal or legislative reason to hold onto your data, it will be purged and destroyed from all Company systems. 

How We Protect Your Data

Big River Analytics has a number of cyber security controls in place which aim to minimize any risks of unauthorized access, corruption, loss, leak or theft of private and personal data. This includes but is not limited to network security, antivirus protection, physical access policies and access management. 

While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure that private and personal data is secure and protected, there always remains the risk of harm. The Internet as a whole can be insecure at times and therefore we are unable to guarantee the security of data beyond what is reasonably practical.

Children

We do not knowingly collect or use personal data from children under 13 years of age. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 years of age, the personal data will be deleted as soon as possible. If a child under 13 years of age has provided us with personal data their parent or guardian may contact our Privacy Officer.

How to Access, Modify, Delete, or Challenge the Data Collected

If you would like to know if we have collected your personal and private data, how we have used your personal data, if we have disclosed your personal data and to who we disclosed your personal data, or if you would like your data to be deleted or modified in any way, please contact our Privacy Officer.
